Bessi Syren is the lost princess of the kingdom of Syrenfian, one of the many merfolk kingdoms. Her uncle, Abner Cadler, killed her family 13 years ago, to get his daughter to rule Syrenfian. Bessi lived and ran up to the portal that parted the two realms, turning into a human and running into their world. She still has all her magic, and can see what's happening in the merfolk world, but she hasn't returned since the death of her family. She has become a normal person, and completely adjusted to that life.
Blake Morris grew up in a broken home, his father was an abusive drug addict and his mother valued alcohol more than him. He was loved at school for his athletic abilities, good looks, and kind personality. However he always had one passion, mythology. Looking into it more he sparked interest in mermaids and mermen. The legend of half human, half fish creatures that swum around in the ocean freely, who would sing to sailors to drown them, it fascinated him. He wished he could be like that, no worries, in open waters, happy. He was just called crazy, and eventally gave up.
When Bessi and Blake become friends, but Syrenfian is in danger, what will happen?
