If you don't know where you stand with someone, it might be time to stop standing and start walking.

"Say that one more time." His voice had lowered to a deep growl as he pushed my back up against the wall. I knew that if this went any further I wouldn't be able to back out again.
"What would you do?" I kept my voice calm despite the shaking of my body. "Are you going to hit me?"
My words seemed to make something snap inside him. "No." I barely heard the word before his lips were on mine. Only him, only Ashton could give me my satisfaction.
