Tsuki-ume was a simple child. Her family was hard-working and devoted. Every day was the same just the way she liked it, until a demon, Muzan Kibutsuji, killed her father, the main provider of her family. She escaped with her brother and ran. They ran into the mountains until the siblings were rescued by a man. The man helped train them along with two other young apprentices. They trained until their bones ached and their muscles burned. The young apprentices were all cleared to enter the final exam, except Tsuki-ume. Sabito and Makoma, the other apprentices were killed but Giyuu lived just barely. Devastated, Tsuki stayed with the man in the mountains. She cried day and night but as time passed Tsuki grew enraged. One day two children, Tanjiro and Nezuko, appeared who had gone through similar trauma decided to train alongside Tsuki. After passing the final entrance exam and becoming demon slayers Tsuki's revenge drew her on a journey alongside Tanjiro and Nezuko.
