Before, Pokerus was regarded as an easy route of improving competitive Pokemon. Trainers commonly used it to EV train, get higher stats, and impress their friends. This was, of course, back when Pokerus was a natural occurrence.

Humanity and greed have a strong correlation. Soon, scientists began collecting strands of the virus and watching mutations. They were able to genetically modify these viruses to do more than just stat boosts. The infected Pokemon began to grow in size and power. 

What happens when there is too much power? Humanity has been wiped out, and only a few Pokemon are left in the regions. This story will explore the life of a Turtwig, now deprived of his trainer, living in a strange city in the Hoenn region.
