Charlie Mathison is twenty years old. She's never had a home, she's been running ever since she can remember. From foster family to foster family, she's lived a hard life. After a terrible night when she makes the biggest mistake of her life, she runs all the way across the country to forget it happened. She finds herself getting off at the last bus stop, in a tiny PA town called Stars Haven.

Hunter Scott has his whole life planned out. He's going to follow in his father's footsteps and live the life of the mayor and become as successful and rich. But when Charlie gets off the bus he knows he has to meet her. She's a mystery he is determined to solve, and the first girl he wants to confide in since his life spiraled out of control.
