After moving away from Kildare Island not long after your mother is killed in a car accident, you go on to build a whole new life in the suburbs of DC with your dad.

College brings you back to the south, and back in contact with your friends you'd left behind all those years ago. One friend in particular, JJ Maybank, had been your best friend, and you hadn't realized how much you'd missed him until he appears in your life again.

It's weird seeing him again, considering your past, but the connection you still have a decade later is still impossibly strong, and the more time you spend with him, the stronger that connection becomes.
