Eleven unfortunate victims, bound through time,
One found the Legend of Shadowbrook, and started to plan a rhyme...
Ten dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Everything all but fine,
The lighthouse light flickered,
And all that stood were nine.
Nine dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Swimming to kill the wait,
A huge wave toppled down,
And one couldn't handle the weight.
Eight dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Starting to appear a little manic,
Three by the cliff to ease the paranoia,
And one was pushed off in a panic.
Seven dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Accusations and denial,
The accused called for a recess,
And never made it back to the trial.
Six dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Someone's thinking had changed,
They went out by themselves, and hours later,
They were found with their innards rearranged.
Five dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Slowly going insane,
Someone had laced the drinks!
The unlucky one felt no pain.
Four dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Going over every detail,
One inspected a dark, creepy room,
Found a broken body after a message in Braille.
Three dwellers of Shadowbrook,
Overcome with a strange feeling,
By the time the sun was set,
The "guilty" one hung from the ceiling.
Two dwellers of Shadowbrook,
One's mission finally complete,
Took the life of their unlucky companion,
Rendering them obsolete.
One dweller of Shadowbrook,
Making their way out,
The sneaky little devil who snuck away
Appeared one last time for a bout.
The two made their way across the island,
Fighting from landmark to landmark,
The fight ended at the crack of dawn
With the sole survivor becoming the patriarch.
What happened next? We do not know.
The maniac was quite weary.
Neither the island or their self were ever found...
The Legend of Shadowbrook is quite eerie...
They never tell you what to do when five girls from your school go missing. They never tell you what to do when you witness them getting murdered in the middle of the woods.
Tragedy seems to follow me around. It constantly lurks behind me, waiting for the exact moment to snap its fingers and mess up everything.
And that night, everything changed.
Because, after that night, I wasn't the same person anymore.
I'm not known for being reckless. It's not me. But now, after I saw death with my own eyes, I can't seem to care anymore about the consequences. I got involved too deeply, and now it's too late to turn around.
There is only one rule.
Lie.
