"Write a 500-word thesis on why Marids are blue," He read out from his friend's notes that were laid out on the floor. "Are you kidding me." "I told you, you shouldn't have skipped class," Persephone said as she read the news. He sulked, "Well I'm terribly sorry. What even is a dumb marid?" His voice echoed throughout the spacious room. "Wait, aren't they dead?" Amelia pointed out from behind Persephone. "Who is?" He asked from the other side of the room, behind his friend's piles of notes. Yves walked over to Persephone and Amelie, curious about the confused looks on their faces. His eyes landed on the news book on Persephone's hand and widened. The three of them looked petrified. Tension was building up, causing Rose to stalk towards them, leaving her friend bumbling about blue marids. "Hello, I'm asking a question!"He demanded. "Shh." The news book lay flat open in Persephone's hands as the four analyzed it furiously. It felt like ages, as they stood there and stared at the page, trying to see a loophole that would prove their thoughts wrong. "Pfft, it can't be," one of them said uncertainly. "How?" The other chimed in. "Didn't they die?" Persephone asked nervously. A pair of eyes stared at her sceptically, urging for an answer to an unsaid question. "What? Me? I didn't do it, I swear I didn't revive them. I don't even know how to cook." "Oh, dear." "The others have probably seen the article." "WHAT'S A MARID?" "Shh!" And so it began, the end of the world.
