His eyes, they looked more beautiful than any I've ever seen. The sparkle in them showed the vulnerability that was eating at him. The eruption its evoking. I've seen people look at me with almost the same emotion but not his. He reaffirmed his wrapped arm around me with a tight grip. "You're my weakness, Hazel. You've possessed my every inch..every part of me wants to submit to you, Hazel, I want to-" he said hoarsely, as if the tight hold on me wasn't enough, he used his other hand to remove the strand of my hair from my face and tagged it at the back of my ears. I gulped and my eyes shut as if their eternal thirst is being quenched. I was suddenly enveloped by a flick of the memories I wanted to keep buried. Dave and I "Don't you get it?...Don't you fucking get Everly?" he raised his voice, his eyes look scary and intimidating while his finger pointed to me "Every man loves you, they all want you. Whoever gets you have to worship you because, he doesn't wanna to loose you. Thats when he has to do all that you say, all you want, just to please you, but you know what?-" his evil grin appeared from nowhere, "-I'm never gonna do that." "You never get anything for me on any special day, not even my birthday and you're talking about doing things to please me?" I'd snapped back. "Of course, I don't-and I won't because I don't want you to be my weakness. I don't want you to be my fucking Weakness, my damn weakness, Everly. I. do. not. need. that-" He'd literally spelt his last words while pointing his shaky finger towards me with dreadful look in his eyes. "-I can't please you.I have alot going on. A CEO of a huge company like me doesn't need a weakness like you. You have to submit to me anyhow.-" He had said with a calm dead serious tone.

Trust is a weapon, betrayal the price. Pearl and Travis, locked in a battle of wills, once more. In a world where loyalty is currency and treachery the cost, who will truly wield the power? A broken bond, tested by deception-who will stand, and who will fall?" ➯ "I was running from danger. Kidnapping me, Travis? Very classic," I spat, rage curling hot in my chest. My fingers found the vase beside me - smooth, cold, heavy - and I didn't hesitate. I swung hard. He ducked just in time, but not fast enough. The glass sliced across his cheek, a ribbon of red blooming below his eye. He didn't even flinch. "You were covered in blood," he growled, voice cracking at the edge. "You died." "And you expect me to believe you saved me?!" I screamed, grabbing the nearest box and hurling it at him. It crashed into his shoulder with a dull thud, and this time - he stopped. His eyes locked on mine, dark and unreadable, a storm swelling beneath silver. Blood welled slowly beneath the cut, trailing down his face like a single crimson tear. I stood there panting, chest heaving, the next object clenched in my fist like it was the only thing tethering me to control. If he took one more step, I'd throw it. I swore I would. Then - his voice came, low, almost a whisper. Not to me. Not really. "How do you... always seem to unravel everything?" "Get lost, Travis!" "You're in danger" he said breathlessly, raking his hand through his hair. "And when was your help ever needed?!" "You do not know what you're doing!" He yelled. "I guess things never change. We will always be screaming at each other's face but you wanna know the difference... I do not give a fuck about you, Travis!" He let out a breath, raking his hair. "Is your empire slipping? It's all crumbling, right? But guess what...this is just the fucking beginning!" He turned away, his hands still in his hair. "Your little charade, doesn't change shit! You should have let me die!" "I should have"
