Jack sparrow earlier in the day had been to battle at sea with a rival pirate crew and his first mate, best friend and fiancé Jane had been stabbed and then plummeted to the bottom of the ocean Meanwhile in New York City tony stark and the avengers earlier that day had been in battle and pepper along with being ceo of stark industries and Tony's wife she was an agent of shield and so pepper is required to go on dangerous missions so the avengers never got hurt so on this mission pepper made the sacrifice snap instead of tony
