I handed in my entry for the Christmas greeting card contest this morning, I have absolutely no clue on how it's goin to go or what amazing artists entered the contest too. All I know is that there weren't very many people entering. And what I mean by great artists is the fine arts kids who everybody thinks they have amazing talents. Funny thing is some of them do. Basically all I'm saying here is I've automatically failed.

I thought about it In literally the dumbest way I could and thought if I could somehow enter like 20 times and then I have about a 45% chance of winning... But that chance has passed as its in the middle of the night and the winner has already been decided. *sigh* I think way to much about this stuff.

I've always loved notebooks, specifically, diaries. But, when I realized that what I've gotten only has thirty pages... I was overwhelmed. Since this was a gift, I gotta make it useful right? But... Christmas isn't the same for you as it was when you were a child. Not as magical, very anticlimactic. You long to get back the Christmas magic you had as a kid-the joy of childhood-and have been trying your best to. Unexpectedly, Santa (North) knocks on your door and offers to help you get your Christmas wonder back, as he does with chosen adults every year, by letting you help deliver Christmas this holiday season. You accept the offer. But as you get into Christmas preparation, you discover that delivering Christmas and getting your wonder back is going to be much harder than you thought. Book of Contests (2024)
To keep myself from losing track of: all the contests I've entered, all the contests I've volunteered myself as a judge (or let myself be voluntold into judging), all the books I've had to read as a contestant or as a judge, all the deadlines, and all the other important stuff, I've decided to create a book that registers all these things in a somewhat organized fashion. I can't remember who advised me to do that, but whoever you are, and there are probably several of you, thank you. I've been reading that it's extremely common for contests to be a bit sluggish with follow-up if a person wins a major prize and gets graphics and shout-outs, so I'll use this book to keep track of that, too. I had no idea so many people would be adding my personal convenience book to their own bookshelves, let alone voting for chapters - if my book of contests is useful to other people, that makes me happy. Very happy. However, I feel I must reiterate that although other people are welcome to browse my public contest logs and look for contests, look for information about details of contests (i.e. you want me to pour you some tea), etc, these contest logs are primarily for my own use. I enter so many contests that I can't keep track of them without a log. I forget important details, too, including things like "Note to self: You do not get along with this contest host, best not participate in their contests." This was never meant to be an "expose" book. I'm not exposing anybody. Contests are matters of public record, as are any comments made in the contest books. I'm just a ditz who needs a written log to keep track of everything. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders. I want to start by saying I am no Psychologist, nor do I specialize in any sort of study of the mind. I just happen to have very strange dreams that I prefer to write on paper (ironically) and analyze them myself and how I feel it resembles what I truly think about when I'm not in control. His voice is low with what he says next, "I love you Gracie" my voice hitches down my throat. "And I understand this is not what you want to hear now, remember the first time we met?" He holds each side of my head. I nod, "yes in that low lighted room at the party, it was September fifth and the time was around eleven twenty-nine pm" strangely I have the whole day memorized because of how I replayed the scene. He lets out a light chuckle and I drop my hands down, "na the first time we met was at camp. You also told me our kiss was your first" My mind runs back to that 'kiss' I had forced myself to forget, "you're that Aaron" my eyes are perplexed. "We sat around the campfire, we were given such weak dares" we both laugh at the memory "Your dare was to kiss me and you were really shy about it but all I could think of was, 'wow this gorgeous ginger is about to kiss me'" his laugh is so calm, soft and melodic. I pull his neck down so quickly that he doesn't get the time to adjust to what is going on. The S.U.N. and The Peter Pan Project or the day I woke up in somebody else's bed... My name is Maya, I'm seventeen and I've grown up with my brothers on the Atlantic Coast in the South West of France. Nothing seemed unusual last night when I went to bed. I wished my brothers good night, went to brush my teeth and set my alarm clock before slipping into my bed. So what am I doing in this king size bed, cuddling this dark blue plush cushion, and getting high on the delicious masculine perfume somebody left on it? All this would be easier if somebody was around to answer my questions... But all I have are these bright pink Post-it notes with instructions... So what choice do I have other than to follow them?
