Rebecca Hasam is not a die-hard Elvis fan and never really bothered to learn about him since he was popular in her grandparents' generation, not hers. Well... she has the opportunity to learn more about him when she visits Memphis for her work as a reporter, covering a story on Elvis for Elvis Week. She gets there and meets an Elvis impersonator. After some turn of events, and to her utter shock, she finds that the impersonator is the real thing, and she has been transported to 1965. Now, she's not only a reporter, she is a stand-in actress in Elvis's movie Harum Scarum, the role of which she accepted somewhat impetuously, with a hidden motive to pick Elvis's brain for her story. She just wants to do that, not be utterly smitten with his charm, good heart and killer smile and voice.All Rights Reserved

Elvis is one of the most famous men in the world, and pretty much everyone loves him for his fame. He has always said that he wouldn't let the fame get to his head. Well, it does, very much so. The love of his fans is like a drug to him. He wants to do whatever he can to make them happy. And the women... they love being involved with a very famous man. Even his girlfriend Priscilla is his fan, maybe his biggest fan. Something needs to be done about all of this. In 1965, Elvis sees a very interesting young woman wearing all black and has black hair and heavy makeup. The young woman, whose name is Ignis, claims to be an enchantress. She shakes her head at Elvis and tells him that the fame has gone to his head, and people only love him because he's famous. If he can find someone who will love and accept him for him and not his fame, other than his family and friends, his fame will not be taken away from him permanently. The spell is put on him, and he has the whole summer--June 21st to September 21st--to find someone who loves him for him, and they have to tell him so, too. And a twist made by Ignis: he has to love and accept this person for who they are as well. Sam's father is the main groundskeeper for Graceland, Elvis's house. She's less than thrilled when her father asks her to work there. Her previous job treated her horribly, and others in general pick on her because she doesn't have a lot of fashion sense, and she's not much to look at. People had even called her "beast" at times and "outcast." She hates the idea of being around the famous and beautiful Elvis Presley. Maybe she will just steer clear of him the whole time she's there.

Things get a little complicated when her love for him gets in the way... as well as his growing feelings for her. It's against the rules to be involved with her patient, no matter if he's her favorite star and she has been his fan for over twenty years - she could get fired. How would she help him then? Taking care of him professionally could result in saving his life since, tragically, he may not live much longer if he continues down the road he's on. So, love or life, which will it be?
