Writer Berdie Keatings had one goal in life, to write the great American novel. And ten years ago, she started writing about her life. But after her husband is murdered, she puts the pen and her scribblings away...for good. But then she's reunited with a man from her past. And Berdie feels like she has only one choice. Write the ending to the book as the story of this part of her life seems to be coming to a close fast. The more she completes her book, the more she unveils the lies she told ten years ago. Her past seems to be coming back to haunt her, her lies seem to be becoming unveiled, and when the truth finally comes out, it reveals a dark side that Berdie has tried to hide after all these years.

The nineteen-year-old Maeve has been struggling with depression ever since her senior year in high school. One day, her life didn't move forward like everyone else's, but instead confronted her with her reality... 'there's nowhere for me to go.' Maeve's taken a second gap year. All of a sudden the universe has decided to make her life a roller coaster within a short time span. There are good moments but also the exact opposite. Will Maeve climb up the ladder towards her own happiness, or will something or someone block her way, or worse, push her off? ************************************* This is a relatively short story. The beginning might be a bit dragging but that changes pretty quickly. The cover (minus the letters) doesn't belong to me. All rights are reserved to the owner.
