Her best friend Dixie Stone tried to put her life back together after her disappearance with the help of her sometimes supportive mom and her new therapist. However the day after Vanessa's body is found, Dixie gets into a mysterious accident and goes into a coma.

In order to find out what happened, the detective on the case reads her diary and what he discovers inside it shakes him to his core.
