Shadow

This book is about a girl named Eleanor Byrd who lives in a real-life hell. She fights every day for both her life and her sanity. To say the least, encounters with her father are a battle, sometimes so that she didn't know if she would wake up the next morning. Sometimes she wishes she hadn't. Through constant trials and tribulations in school and at home, Eleanor decides one night that she is going to put a stop to everything. When she goes to pull off her plan, someone else's plan seems to be in place. Out of nowhere, a male with dark wings appears before her, offering her a chance of a lifetime-one that could save her from her worst nightmares. As this mysterious man's plan is put into action, Eleanor starts to discover feelings that she never knew she could have, especially about someone not even from this world. But things always come crashing down for poor Eleanor, and when she finds out this man's biggest secret, she'll wish she had done what she promised to do that night when he appeared.
