I stand in front of my mirror with most of the lights off, I wear my plain black shirt with my black ripped jeans. I throw my black hair up in a bun and I make sure that my eyeliner is perfect then I finish with applying my black lipstick. Yes a black lipstick. Breathing heavily, I wip the hot tears off my cheeks and stare at the mirror. No smile, no emotions and my reflection in the mirror looks like a zombie. I try to take a deep breath and smile but it's like someone is squeezing my face and I'm not capable of smiling no matter how hard I try. Why try?. I wear the usual miserable look and I walk downstairs with my bag.

This is the beginning of my story. I was on a self destructing spiral, my entire life shattering in front of my eyes and I was alone. I wasn't on the edge of giving up. I had given up. My mascara and eyeliner are smudged all the way around my eyes making me look like a raccoon. But its not my hair and eyes that make me start to cry. Scattered along both sides of my neck and shoulders are at least six or seven hickeys. Some are the size of a quarter and others are at least an inch and a half in diameter. Each one is sporting a different shade of purple. On my left shoulder I can see a row of marks that form a clear outline of teeth. As I stare at myself in the mirror, I don't even recognize the reflection. I'm a married woman, and I can't get over that. I'm only wearing red lace underwear at the moment.
