"why haven't you done anything about the Jake thing yet?" she asked her mom, trying to stay calm and collected. 

"im sorry but its more complicated then you think. if I tell the police about it then they will take you away from me!" her mom had started to raise her voice even though there was no reason too

"that's not how it works mom!" she started to raise her voice back at her mom

"you need to get over it anyway, thinking about it is just letting him win" she looked at her daughter with a face of disappointment, as if she was disappointed that her daughter hadn't gotten over what had happened to her just over a year ago. 

"yeah like its that easy... but whatever mom"
