16 year-old Relicta, Lee, is an orphaned girl with no knowledge of her lineage. No known family, no known name, no known anything. All that she does know is that she is the loner of the orphanage-and she's okay with that! Who needs anyone else when you have books and chocolate?
Over the course of one night and the next day, Relicta makes two friends, popular, 17 year-old Oliver Caddell and quiet, kind 16 year-old Adella Rüt. As she goes on, she suddenly has a third friend-fierce 13 year-old October Aurelia. This new sensation of being wanted is strange for Relicta. What's even stranger than that? The fact that the four friends get sucked into a mirror and transported to a magical land-and all three of her newfound friends seem to be familiar with this land, as if it was their home.
When Oliver, Relicta, October, and Adella find themselves tasked with starting the revolution against the tyrant ruling the land, will they take up the opportunity to finally prove themselves to the world that they are more than just orphans taking up space?
