Short Story: Dollhouse

Abby had never quite forgiven her father. Since she was a child, her father was a drunk who had caused rifts in the family household. Her mother had forgiven her husband, but Abby hadn't given her father the same loving demeanor. After all, how could a man in and out of rehab so many times be a new man, husband, and father?

One day as Abby returns from ballet practice, she finds a surprise for her that she disappointedly waited years for: her custom-made dollhouse. The anger, hurt, and resentment are too strong for her to accept this gift. Who does this man think he is to ruin her upbringing and then bring her a gift as repentance too many year later?
