You're A Jerk, But I Like You Anyway (A Jonatello Fanfiction)

The two used to be so close when they met in Elementary School. It felt like they were inseparable and nothing would ever ruin that friendship. But now they can't even look each other in the eye while passing each other through their High School hallways. Donnie knows that Casey's a jerk and their friendship probably wouldn't have lasted anyways. So why does it hurt when he acts like Donnie doesn't exist? Isn't that what he wanted? What they both wanted?

(( This is based on an AU of mine (that I'm going to eventually draw, but for now I'm writing it out) ! This AU takes place in a universe where mutants / aliens / etc. are accepted in modern society, and the turtles get to live out somewhat more normal lives. I might incorporate conflicts like Shredder and Kraang at some point, but for now it's just an angsty romance story that primarily focuses on Casey and Donnie (As well as Raph and April sprinkled in there-), and most of the conflicts in it are teenage drama / LGBTQIA+ challenges.
