I didn't want to die, so I pledged my life to a demon lord. Tale as old as time, really. The only problem is, Arkiel isn't just any demon lord---he's a prime example of a mara prince. A beautiful creature driven to protect his people by growing his horde, expanding his territory, and crushing any threat.
It just so happens that my abilities give him a very special advantage in all this, which is bad for the free world. I have to find a way to break the bond with Arkiel before he grows too powerful to stop---or before I grow too comfortable with being his favorite weapon. Before I forget why anyone wouldn't want to be his.
