Once upon a time there lived a lovely little princess named Snow White. Her vain and wicked Step-Mother feared her beauty would surpass her own. So, she dressed Snow White in rags and sentenced her to cleaning the castle as a scullery maid. Each day The Evil Queen consoled her Magic Mirror. "Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" she would ask. As long as the mirror answered, "You are the fairest of them all," Snow White was safe from the cruel jealousy. "Daddy, how can I be the fairest one of all?" The little boy turned up to look at his father that held him so dearly. He smiled such a sincere smile, the corners of his blood-shot eyes turned up for the last time. "You already have all the beauty in the world. So, the only thing you need to do is to be kind. That will make you the fairest of them all. Can you do that?" His breath began an unnatural rythem and his rasps echoed in the stone room. "I will, Daddy. I'll be the fairest, I promise." and the little boy was ushered out of the room by the nurses. Some ideals, and quotes from Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which I do not own.

Once upon a time a snow king fell for an apathetic servant, then a prince-turned-bear found true love in a fellow prince who almost shot him in the face. Almost. Then, of course, one can't forget a monster who found himself wanting to be more human. Bit by bit. For love. Protagonists quirky and not, sarcastic and witty and a bit too self-aware. Every fairy tale has their typical happy ending but it looks as though these ones had to take detours and backtrack on the way to theirs... oh well. As long as it ends well, who cares if it's a little bit odd. Each story is its own stand-alone tale of romance, though there may be bonus shorts for some.
