Braylin's life has been hard. But now, with her father put in prison for all the abuse he has put her through, she is working to find a better place. As she waits for her aunt to finish moving to town, she is staying with her life-long best friend, Jonah, and has a feeling that this is her chance to change things for good.
But it's hard to stop flinching everytime she feels a hand on her back or open up about all those years stuck with her dad. Memories haunt her like a ghost from her past and it's hard to believe in this God that Jonah keeps telling her about, with unconditional love and mercy.
One fateful night, Jonah's kindness breaks open a door to something Braylin would never have seen coming. Somehow, this stranger that Jonah offers a meal and bed to will turn Braylin's life toward something bigger than she could have ever predicted.

There is something about the stories, and the Light House itself that attracts Abbie even before she finds out a secret, hiding in it. This is a story about Abbie's journey to self-discovery, to learn what love and care truly mean. Being a teenager is not easy nor is peeling off layers of masks, especially when you have them on for so long. When anger is the only emotion Abbie's known to express for so long things are bound to explode. This is my first story here. Comments and feedback are appreciated. We all hate the storm for the disaster it created and praise the sun, when the storm just wanted to protect us. The storm and the shade. She's the storm and the shade. She's the chaos and the calm. Only I can't see the chaos. Not fully. She's keeping it all inside. All I see is the calm. I can tell though. I can tell there's chaos. I just can't see it. It's not so black and white.
