I made my own twist on Icarus's story. I always liked the idea of Icarus and Apollo being in love. So this is my own personal take. It's rather short so it's a good small read.

[COMPLETED] "We both agreed, Apollo! We said no feelings, no attachments! You promised you wouldn't get attached." I look down at my lap in worry and shame. I have no idea what to say, I promised her, but like an idiot I broke that promise. "Say something!" My breath hitches and I look up at my beautiful girl through my lashes, my eyes brimming with tears because I know after tonight we won't be seeing each other again. I stand up from the edge of the bed and walk over to her, watching as her chest moves up and down harshly with each breath. My eyes trail over the love marks I left moments ago when we were happy to only get lost in each other's arms temporarily. She's mad at me. I never wanted her to be mad at me. "I'm sorry, baby," I whisper reaching forward to run my finger along her cheek catching the falling tear that flows down her soft skin. "You promised." She whispers. I know. "I promise I'm not attached, Blue." Too late. ••• Apollo and Blue have a few things in common. They're both lonely, they're both sad and they both attend the same university, a place where they stumble upon each other for the first time. So when the two decide to keep each other company by forming a causal relationship, the hard-headed Blue sets clear instructions for Apollo. Seventeen-year-old Icarus Olsson never really thought much about his namesake, due to the fact that his father was a Greek Mythology professor that worked at the local city university. After waking up countless times to phantom burns and fevers, Icarus didn't expect to pass out from heat exhaustion one autumn day at school and be greeted with the sight of a handsome man he swore he had seen a long time ago...in another life possibly. Seeing him every time he closed his eyes to sleep, and waking with more burns than usual, Icarus wondered if he was being lured by Apollo. Learning that he was the reincarnation of the original Icarus and the Fates had intertwined his string with Apollo's, in order for them to never be separated again, Icarus knew that he would succumb to the lure of Apollo eventually. After a bad war, the kingdom of riverflood was trying hard to scramble to their feet. When their king Apollo had a flower parasite that injected from his right eye, the kingdom worried if their king is dying. For as the flower didn't bother him, and it is fairly friendly, it only bothered is eye sight. Still the kingdom was scared that one day the flower would end up killing him in the end. With him being the only Arkan left, what would become of the Arkan throne? Without him being married and of no son to take over his spot, what would bece of the little kingdom? To only add to their troubles, word had been going around that a prisoner of war had gotten lose. No matter what, she couldn't get away. She was captured again and brought to the Kings heed. Instead of killing her outright, he bought her life and turned her into a maid. She gets along great with all the other workers. Well almost all of them. Because she wasn't from their kingdom, most avoided talking to her. While she loved staying at the castle, she didn't like one part. Her feelings. While staying at the castle, she began to fall for the cold yet charming king Apollo. What will happen when she finds out that one night between the two, could end up changing their life's forever? How Icarus Fell From the Sun (a Solangelo fanfic)
Nico felt like Icarus. Fly too close to the sun, and your wings will melt. Fly too close to the sea, your wings will grow heavy. Nico had already flown too close to the sea. He had allowed his infatuation with Percy to rule his life, his decisions, for far to many years. His wings had grown heavy, and he'd drowned. Icarus had made a mistake. He strayed too far, entranced by the kindness of the light. The dark wouldn't be as welcoming, ushering you in with no hesitancy and crossed arms. That didn't work out so well for Icarus. So, Nico would allow this filter, this light, to cover him, shroud him in kindness, and possibility, and warmth. But he would not cross further. The Light Of Apollo's Love
