Every year, all around the world, thousands of talented youths are chosen for the greatest honor in the world. Hope's Peak takes only the best of the best to represent their homelands in an experience like no other. Everywhere around the world billions watch in anticipation, hungry for representation among the global elite. Death and despair was a way of the past, though through a screen and the lens of nationality, the greatest tragedies make for the best entertainment.
Masanori Chayama of Japan, and Nyathera Abiodun of South Africa, chosen for their talents, were given the chance to attend Hope's Peak Academy. They attend amongst many others for the same reason, promised the opportunity of a lifetime. What they all thought would be a dream come true, turns into a horrific nightmare right before their eyes. Under the control of the Aspiration Agency, all those involved can do is submit to the will of the game. While everyone's heart beats the same, some may beat with a stronger will to live than others.
