Akikta, the last living remnant of humanity, outsmarted death; he's all that's left, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the state of Earth. Like the rest of Alterna's residents, he had a dream to see the world above. But once he escaped Alterna, he came to find the surface wasn't quite like what his predecessors foretold. After twelve millennia, life moved on and now the surface is dominated by evolved sentient sea life. To add insult to injury, practically all non-mollusks, more noticeably, mammalians, have gone extinct. Even if that makes him an endangered species, it does not deter him from his ultimate goal: to save a loved one who was thought to be long lost. With his only form of help being guidance from a mysterious man on a radio, Akikta will do whatever it takes to bring a piece of his family back and survive in this new era. So much has happened the past few years, DJ Octavio's defeat in claiming the Great Zapfish, Commander Tarter's doomsday laser, and Mr. Grizz's failed attempt to bring mammals back to the planet. Some of which could have spelled the end of Inkling-kind and the end of the world, but now a year has passed and things have finally settled down for the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Sort of... DJ Octavio is still loose, and a band of criminals and disgruntled turfers has made a name for themselves in Inkopolis. And to make matters worse, the Great Zapfish has been stolen!...again. At the same time, a few creatures, the likes of which the world thought would never see again, has stepped back out into the light to a world they are never prepared for. But there is more to these creatures than it meets the eye. Can the heroic agents of Splatoon save the day yet again? And can these creatures cope with this new world they're thrusted into. And if these two races meet, will they bide in friendship, or will someone go splat? "P.S. After making himself an enemy of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, he learned he's been playing for the wrong team, and now the fate of the new world rests on his shoulders. In order to succeed in protecting Earth from a genocidal traitor, he has to evade capture, make amends with the New Squidbeak Splatoon, and explore a large mechanical metropolis known as Atlantis; All while looking for a way to save Marie, an idol he foolishly handed over to the real enemy, and his friend, Inka, who he unintentionally got captured. And the worst part is he's running out of time to do all of it. If Akikta doesn't find a solution to his unfortunate condition, he'll be dead by tomorrow. But he's never been a quitter, and he isn't gonna start now. With nothing but his wits, his octoling friend, Nakji, and his will to live, Akikta will find a way to save everything... or die trying.Complete
