A year after Sparkle became the protectorness of Hero City, she noticed that her Crystal gem turns different but something else had become very odd! She quickly consulted Unicora about the crystal gem. While on the other side a mysterious dark villain from Unicora's nightmares is rising and planning to destroy each and every one of the main elements along with the secret element rising out. Sparkle, Unicora, and Elgo, along with Sparkle's mysterious "friend" embarked on a journey to unite the main protectors and along with reaching the potential of Sparkle's new form and confessed love to her mysterious "friend". They MUST keep the main gems OUT of the villain's hands before it's too late. Will Sparkle along with new friends will achieve this before the Crystal Midnight celebration or won't it?
