(SHORT STORY)
Evette Emerson was the oldest Emerson child. She moved to Santa Carla with her mom and two younger brothers. She met a group of "Lost Boys" and began a relationship with the quiet one; Dwayne. The night her brother killed her lover, was the night she decided she was done being a pushover.
Evette packed herself up, as well as the little boy who Dwayne and herself were raising; Laddie. Evette and Laddie moved to a new place away from Santa Carla. While being away from Santa Carla, she meets a man by the name of Brian. Brian quickly becomes one of her best friends, and with that, she soon met the man that would take away all of her pain and worries; Tej Parker.
Tej never believed he'd find himself a girl to settle down with. Most of his life was spent hanging around random girls, working on cars, and earning money through races. He didn't race, but he did a lot of work for them. The moment Brian introduced him to Evette, he knew his life was going to change. He knew there was something between them, and he wasn't going to deny the inevitable...
