I looked back at Poppy. She looked terrifying. Her eyes were red and teary, teeth barred in a way it showed off every one of her sharp canines. She was standing in a way that it looked like she was about to pounce and rip the very fur off of the two Guards. I realized how offended she would've felt hearing Matthias's words. 

  But even though she looked dangerous, the truth was that next to no wolf can stand up to the Guards in a fight, other than our leader, perhaps. 

  But more than being worried if she would actually try to fight the Guards, I was still shocked at the words that Mathhias the Guard had initially said. 

 Probably not ever again.  

  I'd probably not see Poppy ever again. 

  I was worried, shocked, and guilty. I felt a mixture of emotions. I didn't know what to do.

  The guards, finally being done with their talk, grabbed me by their rough muzzle, and walked leisurely, while Poppy ran behind them. When I managed to get a glimpse backward, the anger that was fuelling her just a second ago had completely vanished. 

  Her eyes were wide and anxious; her teeth were still barred, although not with anger, but with a tinge of worry. After a few unsuccessful attempts at stopping the Guards by blocking their path and biting their well-protected legs, she lost all hope and began to shout for me.

This is a story about two wolves who get separated by a bitter incident, and how they begin to unfold secrets about the Misty Mounts that they never knew, and which were hidden from them by their packs.
