"Bethany? Bethy, wake up." 
Bethany works in WCKD and is used for experiments. She is immune to the flare but also seems to posses other abilities. The creators don't know what she has but they want it. So she is thrown into the maze. 

"Bethy you have to wake up. Please. Just wake up for me."
She remembers a lot from her past. She cannot have her memories erased. Will that help the gladers to get out.
