Fifteen year old Emma Morgan and her her family moved to the little island off the coast of England when she was five years old, and her little sister was born the year after. When Emma was 9, her father died in a horse riding accident but she'd continued to look after his horse. Years have passed, and Emma has become known as The Horse Whisperer, able to calm any wild horse, including Raven, Bright Fields' very own wild resident with a broken past.

Emma is expecting for this summer to be just like any other, quiet but romantic with her long time boyfriend, Pin Hawthorn, but Emma is thrown into a whirlwind of adventure and horse thieves upon the arrival of Zoe Phillips, who also shares a connection with Raven.
