Always revered as the perfect, dependable, can-do-no-wrong River (Reverend) Gates, has been granted the unwanted opportunity to start over. Everything she's ever known has been taken from her and she has to work double time to gain it back. What started as a simple teenage party, soon turned into an almost fatal car accident that sent River into a coma for 2 years.

While "on hiatus" her family has split into pieces, her friends have moved on to college, and her boyfriend has forgotten she existed. Now awake and ready to fight for who she once was, River has to navigate the world that easily moved on without her. She's decided to start with conquering her last year of high school, where rumors spread faster than she's ever remembered.

Now she has to balance figuring out what's happened with her family, friends, accident, and fighting the chemistry she has with her new math teacher. Are things better left in the dark...or should she bring them to the light?
