"Why?" My ears were still ringing from the powerful slam against the wall as my door was slammed open. "I'm sure your mom already told you." The grip on my chin loosened when he saw the tears form in my eyes. If I was stupid, I would've maybe considered that he regretted it. But he never took it back. Because it's true. I swallowed the shame and my nose flared as I hid the tears into anger. "I'm sorry not all of this ended in happy rainbows and roses for you," I gathered all of my strength and shoved him away from me before forcibly marching and opening my bedroom door. "Wait, Lily-" "Go! No one is stopping you. Go take the internship and live your life however you want. Don't let me hold you back anymore." I sniffed hard and gripped the doorframe for support. I saw him clench his fists before he flew down the stairs.
