The Day Before Friday Part I
After a brutal run-in leaves her injured and alone, Allison hunkers down in her lakeside cabin, determined to survive the night and settle the score with the girls at Camp Wyeth who spun the truth against her. But the forest has its own agenda. The porch creaks when no one's there. Muddy boot prints appear and vanish. Somewhere between the pines and the black water, a breathy chant rides the wind-too soft to place, too close to ignore.
With EMS delayed and a party roaring to life across the lake, Allison braces a failing knee, outthinks the dark, and turns her home into a fortress one splintered board at a time. She doesn't know it yet, but something ancient and water-logged is testing the edges of her light-patient, methodical, impossible to scare off.
Before dawn, Allison will learn whether the story ends at her door...or follows her into the trees.
