When Annika's parents come back from their "vacation," with them comes Niko. Niko is the prince to a country no one has ever heard of, a country that Annika's parents got into some serious trouble in 19 years ago. Upon telling the king and queen they had a daughter on the way and asking to be spared, the king and queen agreed so long as the coming daughter married their pre-birth son. Niko's parents are aging and soon Niko will be taking over the throne. He must have a queen before he can rule or else his younger brother and young wife-to-be will take it. Is it true as Niko says, "One mustn't attempt to stop the wheels of destiny, for they will get caught under them," or as Annika says, "Destiny doesn't really exist, and people need to chose what they want for themselves."
