Xander never had an average person's life. From a young age his father had pressured him with heaps of work that no teenager could ever imagine being responsible for.
However, now, as the 24 year old he was today, he had no choice but to order people around and inherit the role of his father.

He never had the heart to love. Or rather, his world had shaped his heart in a way that made him believe he didn't have space for it, made him believe it was a vulnerability.

Maybe it was a vulnerability, maybe it did make him weak.
But that didn't stop him from being intrigued with the girl who love to teach him respect and manners.
She fascinated him, the way she preferred to be alone and they way her mouth spilled comments she instantly regretted.
Something inside him urged to know her.
For her to be a part of him.
But he also knew the consequences he would bring by giving into his wants and not prioritizing his needs.

Part 1 of the Best Friends series. Can be read as a standalone. He was a player, She was his best friend. He changed his girlfriend at least twice a week, She helped him get a new girl whenever he wanted. He might have been a devil but She was the queen of them all! __________ "What came first? The egg or the chicken?" Xander asked as he crashed on the couch in front of the television. "Well, the word egg came out of your mouth first." I answered as I rolled my eyes. "No shit, Sherlock!" He replied with his eyes closed as he tried to rest. "Well, I don't have to be Sherlock to know that insulting a teacher's kid in front of her would land anyone in detention, Einstein!" I retorted. "Hey! It wasn't my fault that he came after you!" He defended himself as he came to stand in front of me. "It is my job to protect you!" He stated. "Says the guy who called me to save his ass not even an hour ago!" I replied with a snort.
