Seventeen years ago, one irresponsible scientist accidentally created poison that works like a highly contagious virus when trying to create a weapon. Unfortunately, there are no symptoms, you only know you have it when all the bones in your neck break and your head falls off and your body then collapses to the ground and crumbles into dust floats away with the non-existent wind. It wiped out a little over half the human population of the earth. So now we all live in small towns with many restrictions and laws to make sure nobody in the town gets poisoned or by yourself to scavenge and hunt for food. I chose the latter for me and my family. I am Alcmene Argent, and this is my story.

Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. If I had to get a mate why couldn't he be like, normal. Just a normal guy that will love me for the rest of my life, and put me before him, like mates are supposed to! Instead the Moon Goddess gives me him! The cocky asshole. Our story isnt as cliché as you may think. I guess that we sort of have a past and that's what makes things worse! Chapin (pronounced exactly as spelled chæ pin) could deal with not having a mate, but those dreams were crushed the day she felt the pull when she was only fifteen. Like any good story things don't go as Chapin planed. Especally the part where her mates pack is on the other side of the world. Things get complicated and she is starting to go nuts. She cant help thinking that she might just have to reject him. The thought is unbearable but it might be the only way. Maybe the Moon Goddess made a mistake.
