This book is just a fun, I'm-really-bored, kind of book. Kanonikos is a nation thought to be independent and rule the world. Every year, 12 year olds are lined up according to grades. The fifty lowest 12 year olds, known as the Losses, are thrown out into the Deep Forest to die the day of the Truss. Little does Kanonikos know that a community that calls themselves the Minors is taking the Losses and training strange creatures with weird powers to listen to them. For instance, there is the schnizzle, a small, white, furry creature that melts ice and lays ice where there is none. He can permanently freeze any surface. There's even a dongbungle, a small but vicious creature that eats his enemies. Why the Minors? You may ask, and many of the Losses ask the same question. They call themselves the Minors because they might have been former Losses, but they're bigger than that. They aren't majors though. They know the day will come when they rise up and can call themselves the Majors. Wesley McRay, age 12, a boy with an imagination too big to survive in Kanonikos has just become a Minor and at a time when they need him most.
"Every book is written by someone. They write it with their love, their hate, their life, their passion, their dreams. Never take another person's work too light."
