I force my feet, my bare, cool feet to cooperate and ground myself on this unfamiliar turf. My eyes rove over thin, frivolous grey boots. Suddenly the flashback hits me. So many unbearable nights unravel before me like a roll of film.

I am in the little house. The wind howls and the door creaks and I sleep on the cold, hard floor. My mother lies in the bed just above me. Creak... thump... creak... thunk... thunk... crunch... crack... crunch, crack, crunch! My eyes open and rove over a familiar cottage from another lifetime. My mother jumps to her feet as the door shatters and the raiders rove in. The witch throws a splattering potion that burns me and shatters my mother as though she were the door. The zombies follow. "Run!" Mom's voice echoes. "RUN..."

The jump through the void has left them shattered, defenseless, and alone. Can Esse, or S, hero of The Overworld and Warrior of Minecraftia make it through a new, scary reality where she has to start over from scratch, and can she handle the earth-shattering truth and overcome her crucial flaw before it's too late? Will they ever be reunited, or is S destined to be alone again forever?

Will this lost watcher ever find a place he is accepted in or will he continue to be pushed away by everyone in society? {COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16
Xalune - Echoes from the past by MavAmant
5 parts Ongoing Mature
After reading yet another great older brothers/younger sister story, where the family gets reunited after years of separation, the sister keeps the secret that she was abused and assaulted all along, and the brothers conceal their work in the mafia, I decided to give it also a try. The output of my story was initially to turn this around with openness and unconditional support and the torture should happen right in front of their very eyes. Because no story is complete without the (un)necessary bloodshed, action, humour and, of course, a bad guy. And who knows, to throw everything completely upside down, the main character may not survive. I won't write warnings above each chapter, because most of them contain violence, blood, torture, etc. Constructive criticism is welcome. Ow, and English is not my first, second or third language. So if I mess up somewhere, let me know! Description: In a dystopian world, where the strongest prevails, having peace is a luxury. Especially when someone from the past is out to destroy everything we have built up over the past 15 years. And with Christmas approaching, our group get to face ten hellish days. Preview: In his fury, the chains have rubbed his wrists and neck raw, despite me trying to calm him down. He suddenly calms down when the screams in the cell next to us switch to the sound of bones breaking. Now he sits with foam on his lips and his eyes wide, looking that way. After ten minutes, the sounds of the boys in our cell have died down, and we all look at the wall that separates us from the crackling of the breaking bones. And then suddenly all is quiet. After a few silent minutes, our cell door opens slowly. From the ball of light from the ceiling, the little girl in the doorway is illuminated. She is completely covered in blood and doesn't move. Then she opens her eyes and carefully walks towards us. And despite everything, my first impulse is to crawl backwards, away from the unnatural calm radiating from her.

It may be a small town. But it has its many secrets. ----------------------------- "Sweetie, I just want to help you." "And how are you going to do that? Lock me up in an asylum where there are psychos who could hurt me? Put me to death? The possibilities are endless when it comes to getting rid of me, huh?" "I would do no such things." "Now who is the liar? And for the record, I have delicious snacks tugged away in my bag if I get hungry. I do not need your poisonous food. Also, do not call me your sweetie or sweetheart. Margie is your child now." "Margaret, you are sick. You need help." "The only help that I need..." She took a bow and arrow out of her bag, letting go of her bag in the process, and set the arrow on the bow. "...you all need help." Without any warnings, she grabbed ahold of me, forcing me to my feet, and held me close to her, pointing the sharp end of the arrow at my neck. "And the only way that you guys will receive help is if I kill my replacement." ----------------------------- If you like adventure, mystery, humor, or cliffhangers, then this is the book for you!
