My life is a series of thresholds that I overcome through poetry. Love, loss, pain, regret, humor, irony, word play, and even sarcasm are as much apart of my life as they are central to my poems here. I am Thresheld. Evolution
There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally. I am putting this out for the whole world to see because I hope everyone will learn from my experience. People can see. We have no excuses to continue living our lives in ignorance. ...WARNING... She wasn't a straight A student, but she got decent grades and was relatively smart. Until she moved out of her parents' house, confident she could take care of herself, by herself. She got a small house in a small neighborhood in Starlight Springs, Colorado, and for the first three months of living there, with a decent job, she was relatively happy. She was an artist as a hobby; people would sometimes commission her online, and she'd make a little extra money. However, three months after she gets her job, she ends up getting fired. Her rent increases around that time, and things go downhill. She calls up an old friend of hers from ninth grade, and she settles in as Y/N's roommate. She was nice at first, until she started getting nosey. She wanted to know where Y/N was at all times, what she was doing, or who she was talking to. Y/N was getting sick of her, but she didn't think she could kick her roommate out without losing the house, so she endured her suffering, continuing to look for a job and draw. One day, she posted one of her art pieces on a Discord server, looking for people to commission her, and in the process, she met a certain man named Fell. --- HIYA! IT'S ME!
