Growing up in Little Havana, Miami, Florida - she hadn't always had the easiest life. Tourists who came to Little Havana thought it was amazing and while it was, they didn't realize the hard life that the people who lived there had. Her parents weren't the richest but they knew they wanted to live in Little Havana because they didn't want to be away from their culture.

Now working at Seattle Grace Hospital as an intern, she finally has found her calling. And maybe she found her own little havana.
