A story about an abandoned child whose orphanage mysteriously burned down. At the brink of death, a fourteen-year-old Chrollo Lucilfer pulled her away from the burning building and managed to save her life.

He was quite the mysterious type, always wearing a facade that no one could easily see through. She loved him, though--and in truth, he loved her back.

However, their ideals were different. He wanted to plague the world with sorrow, while she wanted nothing more than justice for the oppressed.

Their differences clashed with one another, causing her to leave. She wanted to find herself and to detach herself with the man she once loved.

Will they ever be able to love each other again? Or would they remain former acquaintances--or perhaps even enemies?
