For years Liv worked as a bioengineer for A.I.M.. An organization branched from HYDRA many years ago. When she discovered that the company she devoted her career to, was a network of terrorists, arms dealers and scientists specializing in highly advanced and technological Weaponry with the sole purpose of overthrowing all governments, she started to work on a program, that would bring them down. After A.I.M. discovered her double play, they went after her. That's when Clint and Steve found her and helped her go into hiding, so she could finish her program.
Little did she know the man who would stay with her in a safe house was the brooding James Barnes.
