Xun Yu is a kind and gentle advisor who seeks to restore the Han to its former glory. He is highly intelligent and places great value in loyalty. Due to his capabilities and loyalty, he has gained his Lord's unconditional trust.

Cao Cao trusts Xun Yu unconditionally and has vowed that he will one day restore the Han. Ever since their oath, the two share a bond that appears to be unbreakable; however, that bond bends and threatens to break as Cao Cao strays farther from the goal that they set out to achieve together. As Cao Cao receives numerous promotions from the Emperor, never appearing to be satisfied, Xun Yu begins to fear that Cao Cao is no longer the man that he once knew and will bring an end to the Han.

However, the shadows hold many secrets, and old enemies return from their graves as an ancient sect makes its return. Amidst this chaos, Xun Yu wonders if their bond was ever in danger, and if Cao Cao will truly be the one to unite China as they battle against both human and supernatural foes. Will the two overcome this hardship and bring an end to the chaos together, or will their bonds sever, leaving only one of them standing in the aftermath?
