Never did Skylar no-name imagine that she would become a slave. Well, I guess you couldn't really see yourself like that when you were only five years old. What, after she'd been abandoned by her own parents at the age of five, Skylar didn't realize that her future was like putty in the hands of the Mitchell family. Now, she is thirteen years old, and is a slave to the worst master possible: Damion Mitchell. The cousin of the prince of vampires. Skylar couldn't hate her life any more than it already is.

That is, until she meets a strange young vampire boy about her age. Not only is he mysterious, but Skylar feels herself being drawn to him. Desperate to find out who he is, she begins to do things she never thought she'd do. Things that risk her life. But she seems to be determined to understand who he is. Even if it does mean risking it. After all, what does she have to lose?
