Will Byers is beyond traumatized. Between the Upside Down, being bullied, and losing his best friend, Will is done with Hawkins. His family is too, and three months after the "Mall Fire," they pack up and head to Lenora Hills, California. He hates leaving his home and all his friends, but what choice does he have?
Boris Pavlikovsky is falling apart. After losing Theo, he had no idea what to do with himself. Then, his father declares it's time to move again, and off they go to some dump in California. Boris couldn't care less. Why does it matter without his first friend in years?
Ivanna Azarov is once again packing up. She isn't even surprised. She's always moving. But California is a big change from Alaska, and she has no enthusiasm for long days of sun. Nevertheless, there's no choice, so off she goes. It won't be the worst place she's lived, but it can't possibly make her happy, right?
The three teens don't expect much to come out of Lenora. They just want to survive. But then they meet each other, and when they do, their lives come to life again. And they manage to find some happiness in each other, to help them take on this broken world. It is a story of three traumatized teenagers who find within each other stars that light even the darkest of nights.
