"Hey guys, guess who just invited us to Junior Skip Day?" Junior Skip Day. One Friday, every few months, all the Juniors skip school. That's the day after tomorrow... "I think I'll pass-" Jess hit my arm. "Of course, Dee and I will be there." I glared at her, and she just smiled and nodded her head towards Ash. "If Dee is going, then I'll make sure to be there too." I looked up at Ashton, his green eyes meeting my Hetercromia eyes. "Why am I just now noticing you have one blue eye, and one brown eye?" Corbin looked at him with a weird face. "Well it's hard not to notice lad, maybe you're just blind." Ash chuckled under his breath. "Blinded by her beauty." He said it in such a hushed tone, I don't think anyone but me picked up on it. The teacher told us all to go back to our seats, and he went on talking about X,Y, and Z. The last bell rang. Finally, school is over. I was packing my bags, Corbin kissed my head, and left without a word. I still needed time. The teacher left for the bathroom, and I made my way out the door, then something grabbed my hand. I turned, ready to hit someone, but Ash caught my other hand. He leaned in, and I didn't even back away. He put one hand behind my waist, and tucked hair behind my ear. I could feel his breath on my neck. I was aware of his hands on my body. I wanted more. I craved more. But why? I can't think like this- But then he whispered into my ear, causing my body to go static. "You want to devour me, huh? I thought you were eyeing me like I was a meal, darling." His hands brushed against my throat, and he left. He just fucking left. What in the world am I doing?

*Rejected at First Sight* Spin-off series (By GirlWhoChasesRainbow) 🌶 "Oomph!" The sound rushed out of my mouth as the door opened before I could reach the handle and my body hits a wall. I stumble backwards slightly before a hand wraps around my waist, keeping me from falling. Looking up, I realize this wasn't a wall, but instead a very attractive male. A very messy, but definitely sexy, mop of black hair sat on top of his head. When I looked closer, I realized that it was a deep shade of brown that was probably often mistaken for black. My gaze traveled to his eyes, where I found two deep ocean blue eyes looking at me. I kept going further down to his too crooked nose to be called straight, which I assumed came from too many fights. His skin was tanned, but an olive tone suggested he had a natural darker complexion to begin with. My eyes finally found his pink, very plump lips which were resting slightly open. His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that? Was it some sort of local lingo? How did I get rejected on my first day? The first person I make eye contact with at this school rejects me. I guess that's how this school works, if the hottest boy in school rejects you, you're a nobody. If that's how this small town school worked, then I was screwed. So much for making friends, or mates, or whatever they call people in this place. I shake those ocean blue eyes out of my head and continue into the office to start my new life.
