Emiko had moved out of home with her ten year old brother when she was thirteen, because of the abuse at home. The two of them lived in the streets for years until Emily was old enough to get a job, and get a home for the two of them to live properly. But while she worked her younger brother, Mikey, had gotten into some bad groups, and by the time he was fifteen he had become a leader of a huge gang in Tokyo.
There was only one person that Mikey was friends with that Emily was fond of, and that was Draken.
Despite his past he was honestly a gentle man, and so Emiko opened up her home to him. Draken became Mikey's right hand man in the gang, seconded in charge, but he only did it because Emiko had asked him to watch her brother. Terrified that one day Mikey would get himself killed or arrested. The two of them had formed a relationship behind Mikey's back, but they were never threatened by her brother no matter how important he may have been to the gang.
