Two love stories, one friend group. A new school year has started and changes are well on their way. Avery has been in the public eye for as long as she can remember. Being popular in school due to her stunning looks, and being the daughter of some high up people, she was always being watched. She has the picture perfect boyfriend, friend group, and house. All she could ever ask for right? But all she really wanted was for someone to really and truly see her. Not look at her, but see her for who she is inside and out. And it seemed like the only person who could do that, was her best friend, Theo. Theo has been by Avery's side since the day he met her in freshman year. He was the new kid that no one knew. But Avery, with her bright smile and deep brown eyes, made him feel like he was home. He never oversteps, and respects all of her boundaries, but when she's in trouble, or someone's hurt her? He'll call in Jackie to sit by her side, while he fixes every issue that's been causing her stress or pain. Jackie, Avery's childhood friend. They've known each other since they were 5 years old and she has grown up with Avery and her brother Dylan. Avery is like family to her, the sister she never had and she will always be a call away. Jackie is usually roped into the party scene by Avery by force, and never by choice. She usually makes it her job to keep an eye on everyone. Dylan, Avery's brother, is in her friend group by association, and friends with Jackie though neither will admit it. Jackie is like a sister to him, he grew up with her. Plus he has a girlfriend with problems that will keep him more than distracted for a while. He's too sweet for his own good, and he gets pushed around because of it. - - - - - - ⭐2024 Wattys Award Nominee

"He seemed like a puzzle to me, and I really liked solving puzzles. But somehow, I don't think that I would ever be able to solve this one." Amelia Heart, with her large smile and her infectious laugh, is what most people would think has the perfect life. They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. She was everything you wanted to be, and yet nobody had gotten close enough to her to understand her life in this small town at all. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. Things start happening in Amelia's life that simply don't make sense, even to her. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. Time begins counting down, fast. Did she want to involve her friends? Could the new people in her life be trusted? She wouldn't have long to make a decision. Not before her world comes blazing down, the final battle on the horizon. Tick, tock, Amelia. You don't want to be late to the party when you're the guest of honour. COMPLETED 06/11/20
