When Akali, a young diwata, chases her dream to become the best tattoo artist in the realm of the Engkanto, she struggles with the challenges of her new job and gets into mischief as she serves various creatures in the famous parlor of Pinta inside an acacia tree. *** Featuring the mythological creatures from the Filipino folklore. *** Akali is a diwata--a spirit creature, steward of the forest. Everyone expects her to live among the trees and watch over them, but when she grows a passion for the craft of tattooing, she hopes to become the best tattoo artist. She finds work at Pinta, a famous tattoo parlor inside an acacia tree, but only as a cleaning girl. She hopes for a chance to exhibit her talents there and be discovered, but she gets into mischief instead. On her path to attaining her goal, she finds friendship with Makka, a dwende who is a small, cunning creature that likes to play tricks on others, and with Kayn, a mysterious person with a full-body tattoo. With these newfound friends, she braves the trials of her job and navigates the community of different creatures from the realm of the Engkanto.
